Arsenal midfielder Alex Iwobi is enjoying pre-season training with Arsene Wenger's squad
Alexander Iwobi has reassured Arsenal supporters that their pre-season training is going well ahead of their Premier League opener against Liverpool on 14 August.
The Nigeria international was one of the big plus points from an otherwise disappointing 2015/16 campaign for the north London side.
Iwobi scored two goals and made two assists in 13 Premier League appearances in the second half of the season for the Gunners.
The 20-year-old also made his first Champions League start in Arsenal’s 3-1 defeat by Barcelona at Camp Nou in the last 16.
And the Nigerian playmaker is unsurprisingly eagerly anticipating the new campaign as Iwobi looks to further cement his first-team credentials.
Iwobi posted the above selfie on his Instagram page and penned a message for Arsenal supporters on the photo-sharing app:
“Pre-season Going Well; Loving These Nike Mercurial Vapors! Thanks @nike”
Wenger’s side finished the 2015/16 season without any silverware after making premature exits in the Champions League and the FA Cup.
However, the Gunners were able to console themselves with finishing above bitter north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The Lilywhites lost 5-1 on the final day of the season as Arsenal were 4-0 winners to hoist themselves above Spurs.
