Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata says he is happy to be back in the Spanish capital
Alvaro Morata says he is happy to be at Real Madrid amid speculation linking the striker with a move to the Premier League.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte refused to pour cold water on talk of the Blues making a bid for the Spain international when asked directly about Morata at his post-match media conference following a 3-0 win over AC Wolfsberger on Wednesday.
The new Blues boss has been linked with a host of players in the summer transfer window, although Morata’s name keeps springing up in connection with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The 23-year-old centre-forward returned to Real Madrid from Serie A champions Juventus earlier this month after Los Blancos activated a buyback clause in the striker’s contract with the Italian side.
And Morata posted a cheerful update on his Instagram page on Thursday evening which suggested the Madrid striker wasn’t contemplating a move away from the Spanish capital in the immediate future.
Morata wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Back to work! Very happy to be here!”
Chelsea have already signed Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi and Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante in the summer transfer window so far.
