Ander Herrera reflects on Manchester United's 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic

Ander Herrera gave his seal of approval to Manchester United’s first victory under Jose Mourinho.

The Red Devils eased to a 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic in their first pre-season game of the season thanks to goals from Will Keane and Andreas Pereira at DW Stadium.

Mourinho, who won the Premier League title and the League Cup during his second spell in charge of Chelsea, took over reins from axed United boss Louis van Gaal in May.

The 53-year-old has already been busy at work in the summer transfer window after signing Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly, ex-AC Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Broussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

And Herrera, who was signed by Mourinho’s predecessor Van Gaal, was happy that United were able to record their first victory of the pre-season campaign under the new manager’s guidance.

Herrera posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:

“Good performance and first victory of the season ⚽️🔴 @manchesterunited”
