Ander Herrera sent a farewell message to Ryan Giggs on Saturday afternoon
Ander Herrera has taken to social media to bid farewell to Ryan Giggs after the former Wales international departed Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils confirmed on Saturday afternoon that Giggs had ended his 29-year stay at Manchester United and seek pastures new in the wake of Jose Mourinho’s appointment as the club’s new manager.
The 42-year-old had one year left on his contract as assistant manager but Mourinho intends to fill that role with Rui Faria.
Now, Herrera has used his personal Instagram account to thank Giggs for his support during the pair’s time together at Old Trafford.
Herrera shared the photo above on his Instagram account on Saturday afternoon and wrote: “It has been a great honour to learn from such a football legend like you. I wish you all the best #giggs #legend”
United are currently preparing for life under Mourinho after the Portuguese coach was appointed as the club’s new manager on a three-year contract last month.
