Asmir Begovic has hinted that Chelsea are making good progress under new manager Antonio Conte.

The Blues goalkeeper started Conte’s first game in charge of the west London side on Saturday afternoon as Chelsea lost 2-0 to Rapid Vienna at the weekend.

Begovic will be looking to impress the former Italy head coach amid competition from Belgium international Thibaut Courtois.

According to Gazzetta Mercato – as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Everton want to sign the Bosnia-Herzegovina shot stopper in the summer transfer window.

However, Begovic appeared to be enjoying life under the new Chelsea manager after taking to Instagram following Chelsea’s latest training session.

Begovic wrote: “Another good day’s work in the books! ⚽️⚽️”

Chelsea are thought to be interested in AC Milan goalkeeper Diego Lopez to provide competition for Courtois at Stamford Bridge next term.

Begovic moved to Chelsea in a £5m deal from Stoke City in 2015 as the former Portsmouth man replaced Petr Cech at Stamford Bridge.

The 29-year-old shot stopper made 25 appearances in all competitions in his first season at the west London side thanks to Courtois’s serious knee injury.

Chelsea finished in tenth place in the Premier League table last term after a disappointing defence of their top-flight title.
