Cesc Fabregas has a message for Liverpool signing Ragnar Klavan
Cesc Fabregas says he is releived to hear Ragnar Klavan hasn’t suffered a serious injury after the Chelsea midfielder was sent off for a dangerous tackle on the Liverpool centre-half during Wednesday night’s 1-0 victory over the Reds.
The Spain international was issued with a straight red card after Fabregas’s late challenge appeared to catch the new Liverpool signing high on the ankle in the 69th minute of the International Champions Cup clash at Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, whose side have won four of their five pre-season games, has since confirmed that the Estonia international hasn’t suffered a serious injury as a result of Fabregas’s attempt to win the ball.
And Fabregas, who moved to Chelsea from Barcelona in 2014, sent a message to the 30-year-old defender via his Instagram page following the 1-0 win.
Fabregas posted the above photo and wrote the following caption on the photo-sharing app:
“Great team performance last night and important to get back to winning ways. I’m feeling very good and strong. I’m very sorry for my late challenge on Ragnar Klavan. There was no malicious intent and very relieved that he is ok.”
Liverpool are in action again against AC Milan in their second International Champions Cup fixture at Levi Stadium in San Jose on Saturday night.
