The midfielder becomes Liverpool’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window following the arrivals of Loris Karius, Joel Matip, Marko Grujic, Sadio Mane, Ragnar Klavan and Alex Manninger.

Wijnaldum scored 11 goals in 38 Premier League appearances in his first season in England following a move from PSV Eindhoven last summer.

Klopp is clearly intent on making sure that his squad is as strong as possible as he prepares for his first full season in charge at Anfield.

Liverpool posted the picture above on the club’s official Instagram account and wrote: “Back by popular demand… The Melwood lean… #WelcomeWijnaldum”

The Dutch midfielder will now jet off to the USA to link up with Klopp’s side as they continue their pre-season tour in America.

The midfielder will wear the number five shirt at Anfield after it was vacated by fan’s favourite Daniel Agger this summer.
