Granit Xhaka has expressed his delight at finally pulling on an Arsenal shirt after the midfielder helped Arsene Wenger’s side ease to a 2-1 victory over the MLS All-Stars on Thursday evening in San Jose.

The Gunners made the Switzerland international their first signing of the summer transfer window after the north London side agreed a £33m fee with Borussia Monchengladbach ahead of Euro 2016 in May.

The 23-year-old defensive midfielder travelled with Wenger’s squad to the United States earlier this month ahead of their All-Star clash against the best of Major League Soccer.

And Xhaka finally got his first run out for Arsenal after the Gunners manager introduced the midfielder as a half-time substitute during their 2-1 win at the Avaya Stadium.

Xhaka posted the above photo and wrote on his Instagram page:

“My first game, what a feeling😃 #gunnergranit29”

Arsenal will take on Chivas de Guadalajara in Los Angeles in their next game of their tour of the USA.
