Granit Xhaka seems to be in high spirits as he prepares for life at Arsenal following his transfer to the north London club.

The Switzerland midfielder became the Gunners’ first signing of the summer back in May as Arsene Wenger moved quickly to bolster his squad at The Emirates.

Xhaka enjoyed a brief summer holiday abroad following his involvement at Euro 2016 with Switzerland but reported back to London Colney this week to begin his pre-season preparations.

And the midfielder seemed to be pleased with how his first day at London Colney unfolded, even if he was put through a gruelling pre-season training regime.

Xhaka posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “My first day at @Arsenal💪🏻👍🏻”

Arsenal finished in second place in the Premier League table last season and were widely criticised for failing to sustain a title challenge before Leicester won the top-flight crown, ending up 10 points ahead of the Gunners.
