Michy Batshuayi is satisfied with his first performance as a Chelsea player
Michy Batshuayi promised Chelsea supporters that there is more to come from their summer signing after the striker made his debut in Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over WAC RZ Pellets.
The Belgium international put pen to paper on a contract with the west London side earlier this month after the 2015 Premier League champions agreed a £34m deal with Ligue 1 side Marseille.
Batshuayi’s arrival signalled the first signing of the Antonio Conte era after the Italian was appointed as Guus Hiddink’s successor earlier this year ahead of the European championship.
The Belgian forward replaced Diego Costa in the 60th minute of Chelsea’s 3-0 victory and combined well with Brazil international Willian in the final half an hour.
However, the new Chelsea signing was keen to reassure Blues fans that he will get even better with more first-team minutes under his belt in their pre-season campaign.
Batshuayi posted the above photo and wrote on his Instagram page: “Felt GREAT to have some minutes tonight @chelseafc 😍 Legs are a bit heavy but I’ll be sharp in the next days 😁💪 #FirstNeverFollows ”
Chelsea finished in tenth place in the Premier League last season.
Conte completed his second signing as Blues manager at the weekend after concluding a £30m deal for Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante.
