Michy Batshuayi reflects on Chelsea's pre-season victory over Atus Ferlach

Michy Batshuayi was pleased to get more first-team minutes under his belt after the new Chelsea signing scored twice in Thursday evening’s 8-0 pre-season victory over Atus Ferlach.

The striker completed a move to the west London side from Ligue 1 outfit Marseille earlier this month after Belgium’s European championship tournament came to a premature end following a 3-1 defeat by Gareth Bale’s Wales side in the last eight.

Batshuayi was a 60th-minute substitute for Diego Costa in Chelsea’s 3-0 victory over WAC RZ Pellets on Wednesday night but the 21-year-old failed to get on the score sheet.

However, Chelsea’s first summer signing was a half-time substitute and scored with his first touch to ease the Blues into a 4-0 lead before he netted their sixth with 21 minutes remaining in the behind-closed-doors friendly against Atus Ferlach.

The Belgian forward was clearly pleased with the win as he posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:

“Friendly today @chelseafc ⚽ #MB23”

Chelsea lost their first game under new manager Antonio Conte 2-0 to Rapid Vienna before back-to-back victories over WAC and Atus Ferlach.
