N'Golo Kante dedicates a heartfelt message to Leicester and Chelsea fans
N’Golo Kante paid tribute to Leicester City in the new Chelsea signing’s heartfelt Instagram post on Sunday afternoon.
The France international finally completed a summer move after months of speculation surrounding the Leicester City midfielder since winning the Premier League title in May.
The former Caen midfielder put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Chelsea as Kante became the second signing under new permanent Blues manager Antonio Conte.
Kante was linked with a number of different English clubs in recent weeks, but west London side Chelsea emerged as favourites to land the 25-year-old defensive midfielder.
And the new Blues signing took to his Instagram page to post the above photo and write a lengthy message to Leicester and Chelsea supporters.
Kante wrote the following caption on the photo-sharing app:
“The 2015/2016 past season will remain as an important season for me. After a fantastic season, It ended with a final of Euro 2016. We lost, but we can be proud. The fervor of the French people have given us strength and I wanted to say THANK YOU ALL.
“Of course it has to be appreciated according to the attack that struck in Nice in July 14th and I have at this point a sincere thought for all the victims and their families.
“This season, I also discovered the Premier League with @lcfc. I want to thank the leaders, my teammates and Claudio Ranieri for this fantastic season that saw us winning the title of England. Their confidence and also the fan’s will forever remain in my memory. And I again thank you all.
“At the beginning of the new season, I chose to join @chelseafc. It is a great club, which has just recruited a great coach and want to reach high ambitions I share. The club’s project and the coach’s speech have convinced me to join this new ambitious adventure. I am now waiting to see my new club and give everything for a successful summer… And season of course!!”
The French midfielder has scored one goal and has made four assists in 37 Premier League appearances in Leicester’s title-winning campaign.
Chelsea finished in tenth place in the top flight last term after a disappointing defence of their Premier League campaign.
The west London side will be without any European football next term.
