Michy Batshuayi can't wait to meet up with his new Chelsea team-mate
Michy Batshuayi can’t wait to link up with his new Chelsea team-mate Eden Hazard as the Belgium striker prepares for his first season in the Premier League.
The 22-year-old striker signed a five-year deal with the west London side after Chelsea agreed a £34m fee with Ligue 1 side Marseille for the prolific goal-scorer.
Batshuayi was part of Marc Wilmots’s Belgium squad for the European championships, with Chelsea forward Hazard named as the national team’s captain.
While the 2015 PFA player of the year featured heavily for Belgium throughout the tournament, Batshuayi’s only appearance came in their 3-1 defeat by Wales in the last eight.
Despite the Belgium squad breaking up for summer holidays ahead of the new domestic season a matter of weeks ago, the new Chelsea signing is already looking forward to seeing Hazard again.
Batshuayi posted the above photo on his Instagram page and wrote the following caption:
“See you soon @hazardeden_10 😊✌ #checkdelepaule”
The Belgium striker scored 17 times in 36 Ligue 1 games for Marseille in the 2015/16 season.
