New Liverpool signing Loris Karius speaks of his pride at making first appearance for the Reds
Loris Karius revealed his pride at making his Liverpool debut after Friday night’s 1-0 victory over Tranmere Rovers.
The Germany Under-21 international started in goal for Jurgen Klopp’s side against the Merseyside rivals as the Reds got their pre-season campaign under way.
Karius managed to keep his first clean sheet, too, after second-half substitute Danny Ings scored a winner 11 minutes from time to help Klopp’s men make a winning start to the 2016/17 pre-season campaign.
The Liverpool signing took to his Instagram page following the 1-0 victory over Tranmere to express his pride at pulling on the famous Red shirt for the first time.
Karius posted the above photo on the photo-sharing app and wrote the following caption:
“Proud to have made my debut for @liverpoolfc tonight! 🔴👌🏼 #LK1 #LFC”
The 22-year-old shot stopped put pen to paper on a long-term contract after the German goalkeeper completed a £4.7m summer transfer from Bundesliga outfit Mainz in May.
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table in their first season under Klopp, who replaced Northern Irishman Brendan Rodgers in October.
The Merseyside outfit lost to Manchester City in League Cup final and 3-1 defeated by Sevilla in the Europa League showpiece.
