Simon Mignolet is ready to play some games for Liverpool amid fresh competition from Loris Karius
Simon Mignolet appears confident of securing his place in Jurgen Klopp’s side ahead of new Liverpool signing Loris Karius.
The Belgium international has returned to club duty following a prolonged summer break after the Red Devils reached the quarter-finals of the European championship before a 3-1 defeat by Wales.
Jurgen Klopp handed Karius the number one shit following the Germany Under-21 international’s £4.7m arrival from Bundesliga side Mainz at the start of the summer.
The 23-year-old shot stopper has kept four successive clean sheets in Liverpool’s pre-season campaign so far to underline his claim for a starting spot in Klopp’s side.
However, Mignolet, who signed a new long-term contract with the 18-time English champions in January, says he is now ready to make a return to first-team action in America against Chelsea and AC Milan.
