Georginio Wijnaldum trains with the Liverpool squad ahead of the International Champions Cup
Georginio Wijnaldum trained with the Liverpool squad for the first time in Palo Alto after the Dutch midfielder flew out to California following his transfer.
The 25-year-old signed a long-term contract with the 18-time English champions on Friday afternoon after Liverpool concluded a deal for the Netherlands star.
Wijnaldum scored 11 times in 38 Premier League games in his first season in the English top flight last term following a £11.4m move to St James’s Park from PSV Eindhoven.
The Dutch midfielder is Liverpool’s seventh signing of the summer after the Reds completed the transfers of Loris Karius, Sadio Mane, Marko Grujic, Joel Matip, Ragnar Klavan and Alex Manninger.
And Klopp put his Liverpool squad through their paces in Palo Alto on Sunday afternoon ahead of Wednesday’s clash against bitter Premier League rivals Chelsea in Pasadena.
The Reds squad then head to Santa Clara for next Saturday’s game against AC Milan at the Levi Stadium.
