Piotr Zielinski’s agent provides Liverpool transfer update
Piotr Zielinski's agent confirms Liverpool interest but is tight-lipped on where the midfielder will move to
Piotr Zielinksi has made a decision about where the midfielder will be heading in the summer transfer window, according to the Poland star’s agent.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the Udinese midfielder since the end of the 2015/16 Premier League campaign.
Jurgen Klopp has already been very busy in the current transfer window after adding four new faces to his Reds squad.
Liverpool signed Germany Under-21 goalkeeper Loris Karius in a £4.7m deal from Mainz, while Sadio Mane swapped Southampton for Anfield in a £30m deal earlier this month.
Serbian teenager Marko Grujic and Schalke defender Joel Matip have also linked up with the Reds squad after agreeing deals to join the 18-time English champions earlier this year.
Now, Zielinski’s agent has confirmed that Liverpool are interested in the Udinese midfielder.
“It’s true, but I don’t like to talk about negotiations in the papers,” Bartolomej Bolek told Gazzetta.it – as quoted by Football Italia – when asked about Liverpool’s interest.
When quizzed about where the midfielder would be heading in the summer transfer window with AC Milan and Napoli also thought to be interested, Bartolmej said:
“I met owner Pozzo and spoke to Udinese today. We are trying to find the best solution both for the club and the player. We’ll see what happens next week.
“We know that many offers reached Udinese for Zielinski. We’re talking to Pozzo and the interested clubs.
“After the Euros he went on vacation, as he needed to rest after a long season. He will return to Udine on July 22 or 23.”
Liverpool finished in eighth place in the Premier League table last season after a mixed campaign under Klopp.
The Reds lost to Manchester City and Sevilla in cup finals over the course of the 2015/16 campaign.
