Possible Chelsea boost as Inter fail with bid for Portugal winger – report
Inter Milan fail with a bid for reported Chelsea target Joao Mario, according to reports in Italy
Sporting Lisbon have rejected Inter Milan’s latest offer for Portugal winger Joao Mario, according to reports in Italy.
The Portugal international was one of the stars of his national team’s Euro 2016 campaign as Cristiano Ronaldo finally got his hands on the European championship trophy earlier this month.
Mario’s performances at the tournament in France led to reports that Chelsea are interested in signing the 23-year-old attacking midfielder in the summer transfer window.
However, Serie A side Inter are thought to be leading the race to sign the Portuguese starlet as Roberto Mancini looks to bolster his attacking options.
Sky Sports Italia – as reported by Football Italia – are claiming that Sporting have rejected a new offer from the Serie A giants much to the frustration of the players.

Mario scored seven times in 45 games in all competitions for Sporting last season.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has been linked with a host of different players in the summer transfer window, although thus far, the Blues have only signed Michy Batshuayi in a £34m deal from Ligue 1 side Marseille.
