PSV to benefit if Liverpool sign midfielder – report
Georginio Wijnaldum appears to be closing in on a transfer to Liverpool from Newcastle, say reports
PSV Eindhoven will benefit from the deal if Liverpool sign Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, according to reports in the Netherlands.
De Telegraaf are reporting that PSV will receive a fee of around five million Euros from Wijnaldum’s proposed sale to the Merseyside outfit.
The media outlet revealed that they have been in touch with the Eredivisie side to see whether PSV will receive a portion of the transfer fee and a club spokesman has confirmed that the Dutch side will benefit from the big-money deal for their ex-playmaker.
Sky Sports News HQ is now also reporting that Liverpool have agreed a deal in the region of £25m with Newcastle for the midfielder and that the player has already undergone the first part of his medical with the Merseyside club.
The same report in the British media claims that the midfielder will sign a five-year deal with the Reds.
Liverpool have been linked with a number of players in the summer transfer window and Jurgen Klopp has already added five new signings to his squad.
Estonia captain Ragnar Klavan moved to Liverpool in a £5m deal from Bundesliga side Augsburg on Wednesday afternoon.
Klopp has already snapped up Loris Karius and Sadio Mane in the summer transfer window.
Marko Grujic and Joel Matip linked up with the Reds squad after agreeing deals earlier this year.
