Ray Parlour: Why I’d love Arsenal to sign France star this summer
The Arsenal legend is urging Arsene Wenger to make a move for France star Antoine Griezmann this summer
Ray Parlour says he would love Arsenal to sign Atletico Madrid and France forward Antoine Griezmann this summer.
Arsenal have been linked with a host of different players in the summer transfer window, although Arsene Wenger has only snapped up Switzerland international Granit Xhaka and Japanese forward Takuma Asano so far.

Atletico centre-forward Griezmann has been one of the stars of Euro 2016 on French soil after scoring six of France’s 13 goals in the tournament en route to the showpiece.
The 25-year-old netted twice in les Bleus’s 2-0 victory over world champions Germany in their Euro 2016 semi-final to help France reach their first European championship final since 2000.
Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour is a big fan of Griezmann and is hoping the Gunners make a move for the France international in the summer transfer window to tackle a problem position.
“Romelu Lukaku’s been mentioned,” Parlour told Sky Sports News HQ. “We’d love to see Antoine Griezmann at Arsenal. That’s the sort of quality they need.”
Parlour added: “It’s not rocket science in terms of who they need. A striker needs to come in but Arsenal probably need three more players to come in and reinforce the spine of the team. If they can do that they can go on and win the title.”
Griezmann scored 22 times and made eight assists in 38 La Liga games for los Rojiblancos last term as Diego Simeone’s side finished in third place in the Spanish top flight.
