Star striker wants to quit club and sign for Arsenal – report

Alexandre Lacazette wants to join Arsenal from Lyon this summer, according to reports

Alexandre Lacazette wants to join Arsenal from Lyon this summer but the French club will demand £42.2m for his signature, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Telegraph is claiming that the striker is keen to leave Lyon and would like to join the Gunners this summer.

The same report says that Lyon have offered the player a new deal but he is keen on a move away.

However, the north London club would have to up their bid to more than £40m if they want to convince the Ligue 1 club to part company with the star striker.

Lyon confirmed last week that they have already rejected one bid for Lacazette from Arsenal as Arsene Wenger looks to strengthen his attacking options at The Emirates.

And it now appears that the player is keen to join the Premier League side if a fee can be agreed between the two clubs.

The report comes after Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has publicly declared that he does not expect Arsenal to make further bids for the France striker this summer.

The Gunners are on the lookout for a new striker after they finished second in the Premier League last season and 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester City.
