Stat highlights why new Chelsea signing should be Premier League success
This Opta Joe stat highlights why Chelsea were right to sign Michy Batshuayi
Chelsea completed the signing of Michy Batshuayi on Sunday after agreeing a deal with Ligue 1 side Marseille.
The Belgium international has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the four-time Premier League champions after becoming Antonio Conte’s first summer signing.
Batshuayi has been acquired to add more firepower to the Chelsea attack after Diego Costa, Radamel Falcao, Loic Remy and Alexandre Pato struggled up front last term.
The 22-year-old has an impressive record in France after the new Chelsea signing scored 17 times in 34 Ligue 1 games for 1994 Champions League finalists Marseille last term.
But Chelsea supporters can take further encouragement from Opta Joe’s tweet below, which highlights the influence that the £33m signing had on Marseille last season.
26 – Michy Batshuayi was involved in 54% of Marseille's league goals in 15/16 (26/48), the highest percentage of any Ligue 1 player. Signed.

The Belgian forward Batshuayi scored 26 times in 62 Ligue 1 games for Marseille during two seasons at the French giants.
Chelsea finished in ninth place in the Premier League table after a disappointing campaign under Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink.
