Striker hoping Tottenham make another bid to sign him this summer – report
Vincent Janssen is still hoping that he will seal a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, say reports
Vincent Janssen is hoping that Tottenham Hotspur will make another bid to sign him from AZ Alkmaar this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Express is reporting that the Dutch club rejected an £11m bid from Spurs for the striker because they value the player at around £17m.
The same report goes on to say that Janssen spent two days at Spurs last month and held talks with manager Mauricio Pochettino at the club’s training ground.
Janssen is believed to be keen to join the north London side this summer but it remains to be seen whether Spurs will up their bid for the striker.
The same newspaper story says that Spurs have already once improved on their offer of £11m but that the Dutch club are adamant that Janssen will not be sold for less than their valuation of £17m.
Spurs are thought to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as Pochettino prepares his side for a return to the Champions League next season.
Janssen would represent a significant addition to the club’s forward line, with the striker having scored 27 goals to finish as the Dutch league’s top scorer last season.
