Striker’s Man United medical means Mourinho’s second signing imminent – report
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is undergoing a medical with Manchester United ahead of his proposed move, say reports
Zlatan Ibrahimovic is undergoing a medical with Manchester United ahead of completing his proposed free transfer to the Red Devils, according to reports.
The Sweden striker’s future has been a relentless source of speculation in recent weeks after he left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last season.
Ibrahimovic has been heavily linked with a transfer to Old Trafford to link up with his former Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho at United.
The veteran striker finally confirmed on social media on Thursday that he would be moving to Manchester United this summer.
Now, Sky Sports News HQ is reporting that Ibrahimovic is closing in on a transfer to the Old Trafford club.
The same report says that Ibrahimovic arrived at United’s Carrington training complex on Friday, although he is yet to sign a contract with the Red Devils.
It remains to be seen whether United can push through the deal and formally announce it on Friday.
United have thus far only recruited 22-year-old defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal this summer following Mourinho’s appointment as the club’s new manager on a three-year contract, but it looks like Ibrahimovic is set to be his second signing.
The Red Devils finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season before opting to sack Louis van Gaal.
