Possible Tottenham boost as Argentina striker’s wife confirms Inter Milan want to sell
Mauro Icardi's wife Wanda Nara talks up a summer transfer away from Inter Milan
Mauro Icardi’s wife has claimed that Inter Milan want to cash in on the Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United target this summer.
The Argentina forward has blossomed into one of the stars of Serie A over the past couple of seasons after a return of 52 goals in 105 appearances in the Italian top flight for the Nerazzurri.
Icardi moved to Inter from their Serie A rivals Sampdoria in 2013 but the South American has been linked with a potential move away from San Siro in the summer transfer window.
And Icardi’s wife Wanda Nara has provided an update on her husband’s future after claiming that the Inter captain is likely to leave the 2010 Champions League winners in the current transfer window.
From what I can see, Inter have put Icardi up for sale,” Nara told Calciomercato.
“There are many clubs interested. We will evaluate the situation with all due respect for everyone.”
“Mauro would be very sad to leave Inter, but we’ve understood the club’s economic situation and evidently they cannot hold Icardi back.
“There is no release clause in his contract and we hope Inter won’t ask for a sum that is outside the market value, but rather suited to his contract.”
Icardi netted 11 times in 33 Serie A games for Sampdoria to secure a move to Inter in 2013.
The Rosario-born forward was named Inter captain at the start of the 2015/16 season.
