Tottenham closing in on Pochettino’s next signing – report
Tottenham are close to agreeing a deal to sign Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar, say reports
Tottenham are close to agreeing a deal to sign Vincent Janssen from AZ Alkmaar, according to reports in the British media.
Sky Sports News HQ is reporting that the north London side are on the verge of agreeing a fee with the Dutch club for the transfer of the striker this summer.
The 22-year-old forward has been touted as a target for the Lilywhites as Mauricio Pochettino looks to add some cover for first-choice striker Harry Kane at White Hart Lane.
The same report claims that AZ Alkmaar rejected an offer close to £15m for Janssen from Spurs last week but that a deal is now looking increasingly likely.
Janssen earned plenty of new admirers for his form last season as he finished as the Eredivisie’s top scorer, netting 27 goals.
Pochettino is believed to be on the lookout for a number of new signings this summer as he prepares his side for a return to the Champions League next season.
Spurs ended up third in the Premier League table last season after being leapfrogged by Arsenal on the final day of the campaign.
The club have thus far only signed Victor Wanyama from Southampton this summer.
