Usain Bolt sends message to new Man United signing

Usain Bolt has welcomed Manchester United signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Old Trafford

Usain Bolt has welcomed new Manchester United signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the “greatest” club in the world.

The Swedish legend agreed to join the Red Devils earlier this month as he became Jose Mourinho’s second signing as United manager.

Ibrahimovic scored 38 times in 31 Ligue 1 games for Paris Saint-Germain last season as Laurent Blanc’s side won the title.

The 34-year-old centre-forward has taken over the United number nine shirt after Anthony Martial was swapped to number 11.

And Jamaican sprinter and Olympic champions Bolt, who is a self-confessed Red Devils fan, challenged Ibrahimovic to score lots of goals for the 20-time English champions.

Ibrahimovic is one of three new signings at United in the summer transfer window after the Red Devils completed a £30m deal for Eric Bailly from Villarreal and signed Borussia Dortmund playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

United lost 4-1 to Bundesliga runners-up Dortmund in their most-recent pre-season friendly in China before their derby clash against Manchester City was cancelled due to poor weather conditions.

The Red Devils will face Premier League champions Leicester City in the Community Shield at Wembley on 7 August.
