Watch: Juan Mata replies to Man United exit talk after Jose Mourinho arrival

Juan Mata speaks to a fan about his future amid the speculation linking him with a move away from Manchester United

Juan Mata has refused to rule out a possible transfer away from Manchester United this summer after being quizzed by a supporter at the club’s training ground this week.

Mata’s future has been a source of speculation since Jose Mourinho’s appointment as United’s new manager back in May.

The Spaniard has been linked with a possible move away from United, as it was Mourinho who deemed Mata to be surplus to requirements during his spell at Chelsea and sold him to United in January 2014.

However, Mata played the second half as United began life under Mourinho on Saturday during the 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium in their first pre-season friendly.

And the Spanish playmaker appeared to be paying no attention to the speculation surrounding his future as he chatted with a fan at Carrington.

Mata said: “Don’t believe everything that social media and media says.”

He then laughed when he was asked directly if he would be staying at United beyond the summer transfer window.
