Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he can't wait to work with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho
Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he can’t wait to work with Jose Mourinho again after he completed a move to Manchester United.
The Sweden international signed a contract with the Red Devils on Friday after the 34-year-old successfully completed a medical at United’s Carrington training ground.
Ibrahimovic becomes Mourinho’s second summer signing since taking over the reins at Old Trafford following the arrival of Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
The former Paris Saint-Germain centre-forward played under the Portuguese coach during his two-year stay at Inter Milan, winning the Serie A title in 2008 before moving to Barcelona.
And retired Sweden forward Ibrahimovic explained why he is excited about his move to United after he posed with a Red Devils shirt for the first time on Friday afternoon.
“It goes without saying that I cannot wait to work with Jose Mourinho once again,” Ibrahimovic told United’s website.
“He is a fantastic manager and I am ready for this new and exciting challenge.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my career so far and have some great memories.”
Ibrahimovic won top-flight titles in the Netherlands, Italy, Spain and France but the giant striker has never played in the Premier League.
The veteran striker is still waiting to win the Champions League despite playing for esteemed clubs such as Juventus, Ajax, Barcelona and PSG.
