Ander Herrera makes claim about new Man United signing
Ander Herrera feels that Marcus Rashford can learn a lot from Zlatan Ibrahimovic next season
Ander Herrera believes that Marcus Rashford can learn a lot by playing alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Manchester United next season.
The Swedish striker scored his first goal for the Red Devils over the weekend as he helped Jose Mourinho’s men secure a 5-2 win over Galatasaray on Saturday night.
Ibrahimovic brings a wealth of experience with him to Old Trafford after he completed his move to the club on a free transfer earlier in the summer.
And midfielder Herrera feels that Ibrahimovic will have plenty to teach teenage striker Rashford next season as the club gear up for their first campaign under new manager Jose Mourinho.
Speaking in an interview with the Daily Mirror, Herrera said: “Hopefully we can score a lot of goals next season because that’s what we want to do.
“I think the strikers can be a very good mix and combination because they all have different qualities.
“Ibrahimovic is more of a target man while Rashford can find the spaces because he is so quick and fast. So I think it is good for the manager to have those different options.
“The start by Ibra was fantastic but I wasn’t really surprised he scored such a wonderful goal because I have watched him for a long time.
“Ibra and Rashford are quite different in terms of qualities but Marcus can learn a lot from him.”
United finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season and won the FA Cup under former manager Louis van Gaal.
The club moved quickly to sack the Dutchman and bring in Mourinho as his replacement back in May.
