Antonio Conte opens up over new Chelsea signing
Antonio Conte has been impressed by what he has seen from Chelsea new-boy N'Golo Kante
Antonio Conte has admitted that he has been very impressed by what he has seen from N’Golo Kante so far since his transfer to Chelsea last month.
The France midfielder completed his move to the west London club to become Conte’s second signing as Chelsea boss following the arrival of Michy Batshuayi in July.
Kante has been training with his new team-mates in the US during Chelsea’s pre-season tour of America as they gear up for their clash with AC Milan in Minneapolis on Thursday morning.
And Conte has revealed that the midfielder is in good shape and could feature for the Blues against the Serie A outfit.
Speaking in an interview with Chelsea’s website, Conte said: “He [Kante] is in a good shape.
“Now he is working on the tactical aspect including through the video analysis, and also on the physical aspect, and I think tomorrow he can play one half or 30 minutes and I am very happy to see him so ready to play.”
Chelsea are looking to bounce back from their disastrous season last term, when they ended up 10th in the Premier League table following Jose Mourinho’s sacking back in December.
The Blues moved quickly to bring in Conte as the club’s new permanent manager earlier this year.
