Possible Arsenal blow as Mauro Icardi set to remain at Inter – report

Mauro Icardi has his heart set on staying at Inter Milan this summer, according to reports in Italy

Mauro Icardi is set to remain at Inter Milan beyond the end of the summer transfer window, according to reports in Italy.

La Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting that Icardi has set his heart on remaining at Inter as his wife and agent Wanda Nara looks to negotiate a new deal with the Nerazzurri.

The article states that Arsenal and Napoli have been linked with a move for the Argentinian forward, who scored 16 times in 34 Serie A games for Inter last season.

The Argentina international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Serie A side throughout the current transfer window amid ongoing negotiations over a new contract with Inter.

His agent and wife Nara has regularly fuelled speculation surrounding her husband’s future at the Italian side despite Roberto Mancini making Icardi his captain last year.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for the South American forward in recent months, while Inter’s Serie A title rivals Napoli are also thought to be interested in Icardi.
