Chelsea boss Conte fires blunt warning to new Man United signing
Antonio Conte wants to deny Zlatan Ibrahimovic the Premier League title in his first season at Manchester United
Antonio Conte has stated his desire to deny Zlatan Ibrahimovic the Premier League title this season – just as he stopped the Manchester United striker during the pair’s spells in Italy.
The Swedish striker is preparing for his first season in the Premier League after joining the Red Devils on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the summer.
Conte is also gearing up for his first taste of English football after being appointed as Chelsea’s new manager earlier in the summer.
Conte led Juventus to the Serie A title in the 2011-12 season, bringing to an end Ibrahimovic’s incredible run of winning a top trophy every year since 2003-04.
And Conte admits that he hopes that his Chelsea side can help to deny the Manchester United new boy once again this season.
Conte is quoted as saying by Metro: “It was fantastic [winning the title in his first season as Juventus boss].
“We started the season as the underdog and the press had us down for sixth or seventh place in the table.
“Milan had Zlatan, it was the only season when he didn’t win the championship and I hope this season is the same again.”
Chelsea moved quickly to bring in Conte after the Blues finished 10th in the Premier League last season.
