Chelsea fail with £25m offer for promising Italian defender – report
Chelsea have £25m offer for Alessio Romagnoli rejected, according to reports in English media
Chelsea have failed with a £25m offer for AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli, according to reports in the British media.
Sky Sports News are claiming that the Blues launched an audacious bid to sign the 21-year-old centre-half from the Serie A giants.
The same article states that the Rossaneri are unwilling to sell the Italian prospect after Romagnoli moved to the San Siro last summer.
Antonio Conte has made two Chelsea signings in the current transfer window after the former Juventus manager took over the reins at Stamford Bridge following the European championship in France.
Michy Batshuayi moved to the west London side in a £34m deal from Ligue 1 side Marseille and the Belgium international scored his first Blues goal in a 2-1 victory over Watford on Saturday afternoon.
Conte also added Leicester City’s title-winning midfielder N’Golo Kante to his Blues squad in a £32m transfer last month.
Chelsea are in fourth place in the Premier League table but behind leaders Manchester United on goal difference.
