David De Gea makes bold claim about Man United and Jose Mourinho

David De Gea is convinced that Manchester United are poised for success under Jose Mourinho

David De Gea is convinced that Manchester United are set to enjoy a hugely successful season under new manager Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese coach is currently gearing up for his first season in charge at Old Trafford following his appointment as the club’s new manager back in May.

Mourinho has been tasked with restoring United back to the top of English football after the disappointment of their fifth-placed finish under Louis van Gaal last term.

The Red Devils did win the FA Cup but still opted to sack the Dutchman and bring in Mourinho as his replacement.

The 53-year-old will be hoping to lead United to their first Premier League title since their title triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in the 2012-13 season.

And De Gea is confident that the Red Devils are on course to enjoy a successful first campaign under the club’s new manager.

Speaking in an interview with MUTV, De Gea said: “We feel that [it could be a special campaign].

“We feel really strong with the new manager and new players, they’re really top players and I think this is going to be a great season.”
