David Moyes signals his interest in Manchester United duo Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj
David Moyes has confirmed that Sunderland would be interested in signing Manchester United duo Marouane Fellaini and Adnan Januzaj.
The former Red Devils manager took over the reins at the Stadium of Light last week after Sam Allardyce was appointed as the new England manager.
Fellaini and Januzaj are thought to be facing uncertain futures at Old Trafford following Louis van Gaal’s sacking and Jose Mourinho’s appointment.
The defensive midfielder was signed in a £27m deal during Moyes’s spell in charge of United, while the Scot was responsible for giving Januzaj a chance to shine in the first-team.
Asked to comment on speculation linking the Belgium internationals with a move to Sunderland in his first media conference, Moyes talked up the transfer targets.
“If any of those good players want to join me I’d be happy to have them. They’re excellent players. We’re interested but I’m sure there’s a load of other clubs that are as well,” Moyes told assembled media on Monday morning.
“We’re interested in lots of good players. You have to have a realistic view. There’ll be some players we can attract just now and some players we can’t.
“We’ll try and get the ones we can and the ones who want to come here and start on the new journey we’re on.”
Mourinho has signed three new players since taking charge of the 20-time English champions earlier this summer.
Eric Bailly moved to United in a £30m deal from Villarreal before Zlatan Ibrahimovic completed a switch to Old Trafford from Paris Saint-Germain.
United also snapped Henrikh Mkhitaryan in a big-money deal from Borussia Dortmund.
