Eden Hazard: This is what Chelsea must to do win the title under Antonio Conte

Eden Hazard urges Chelsea to forget their disastrous season and focus on the future under Antonio Conte

Eden Hazard says that Chelsea must forget their disastrous campaign last season and focus on making a fresh start under new manager Antonio Conte.

The Belgian playmaker came in for plenty of criticism last term after failing to produce consistent performances for the Blues along with a host of his team-mates.

Hazard struggled for form and fitness as Chelsea were knocked out of all cup competitions and ended up 10th in the Premier League table with their title defence in tatters.

The 25-year-old playmaker is not looking to make excuses, however, and says that the Blues must focus on improving their form ahead of the new Premier League season.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Hazard said: “Everybody needs to be the same player as two years ago.

“We tried to find a lot of excuses for why we didn’t play well last season, but we don’t know why. Maybe some players were tired, but we need to be focused and train hard to be ready.

“It’s a fresh start. We have one objective together, to do better than last season. We try to forget last season and be ready for the future.”

Chelsea sacked Jose Mourinho back in December and appointed Conte as their new permanent manager earlier in the year while Guus Hiddink was in temporary charge at Stamford Bridge.
