Eden Hazard: What I really think about this new Chelsea signing

Eden Hazard gives his honest thoughts on Chelsea's two summer signings

Eden Hazard is backing Michy Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante to enjoy successful first seasons at Chelsea.

Striker Batshuayi and midfielder Kante are Chelsea’s only summer signings thus far as Antonio Conte prepares for his first season in charge at Stamford Bridge.

Batshuayi joined from Marseille last month, while Kante arrived from champions Leicester City as Conte moved to quickly bolster his midfield options at Stamford Bridge.

And Chelsea playmaker Hazard believes that the duo will prove to be top signings at the west London club, underlining his delight at seeing his Belgium team-mate join him at Stamford Bridge.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Hazard said: “Kante is a good player, for me it is good because he speaks French. We know he is a fantastic player, he runs a lot and works for the team.

“I played with Michy for Belgium. He is still young, he can finish and is very good. He just needs to adapt to English football and he will. He is intelligent and a good player.”

Chelsea endured a disastrous Premier League season last term as they ended up 10th in the table with their title defence in tatters.

Conte was brought in as Jose Mourinho’s permanent successor earlier in the year after the Portuguese coach was sacked by the west London club back in December.
