Erik Lamela has taken to social media to reveal his excitement ahead of the new Premier League season with Tottenham Hotspur.

The Spurs playmaker is currently working on his fitness levels ahead of the new campaign as he looks forward to the 2016-17 season with the Lilywhites.

The Argentina international was a regular fixture in Mauricio Pochettino’s team last season as Spurs challenged for the Premier League title but ended up in third place behind champions Leicester and second-placed Arsenal.

And the former AS Roma star – who scored five goals and made nine assists in the top flight last term – clearly cannot wait to get started as the new Premier League season draws ever nearer.

Lamela shared the photo above on his personal Instagram account over the weekend and wrote: “I can’t wait until the @premierleague season starts! #COYS”

Spurs kick off their new Premier League season with a trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton on 13 August.
