Gary Lineker delivers verdict on Twitter as Liverpool win 4-3 at Arsenal

Gary Lineker heaps praise on Liverpool after their four stylish goals against Arsenal

Gary Lineker likened Liverpool’s performance to vintage Arsenal as Jurgen Klopp’s side were 4-3 winners at The Emirates on Sunday.

Arsenal striker Theo Walcott missed a first-half penalty before the England striker broke the deadlock in the 31st minute after Alberto Moreno’s mistake.

Brazil international Philippe Coutinho managed to score in Liverpool’s opening game of the season in consecutive years as he curled a free-kick past Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech on the stroke of half-time.

Adam Lallana edged the Reds into a 2-1 lead before Coutinho finished off another impressive Liverpool move with a close-range goal to give Klopp’s side a two-goal cushion.

New signing Sadio Mane polished off what was an impressive 10-minute spell in the second half with a superb solo goal to leave Arsenal facing a 4-1 defeat.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Calum Chambers did manage to make the scoreline look respectable but Liverpool clung on for three points.

Match Of The Day host Lineker was impressed with Liverpool’s stylish goals at The Emirates as the former Tottenham striker tweeted his thoughts throughout the Premier League clash.

Liverpool make the trip to Burnley in their next Premier League game on Saturday afternoon.
