Gary Lineker reacts on Twitter as Man United’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth

Gary Lineker reacts to Juan Mata's opener for Manchester United at Bournemouth

Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to credit Jose Mourinho with getting the best out of Juan Mata after Manchester United beat Bournemouth 3-1 at Vitality Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils watched Manchester City make a winning start to their Premier League campaign on Saturday after former United defender Paddy McNair scored a late own goal at the Etihad Stadium.

Mata was at the centre of substitute controversy last weekend after Mourinho brought on the Spanish midfielder in the second half before taking off the World Cup winner in the final moments of their 2-1 victory over Leicester City in the Community Shield.

However, the 28-year-old started on Sunday and broke the deadlock in the 40th minute on the south coast as the former Valencia forward capitalised on Simon Francis’s mistake to put United 1-0 up.

And Lineker, who was fresh from presenting Match of the Day in their underpants, joked that Mourinho is already getting the best out of Mata following his goal on Sunday afternoon.

United captain Wayne Rooney scored the away side’s second goal in the 59th minute before Ibrahimovic scored his first Premier League goal just five minutes later.

And Lineker admitted that he is already very impressed with Mourinho’s United side.

Mourinho sold Mata to United in a £37.1m deal in 2014 after deeming the Spanish midfielder surplus to requirements.
