Graeme Souness makes bold prediction about Man United this season
Graeme Souness is backing Zlatan Ibrahimovic to fire Manchester United to the title this season
Graeme Souness believes that Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the man to fire Manchester United to the Premier League title this season.
The Swedish forward joined the Red Devils on a free transfer earlier in the summer after he left Paris Saint-Germain at the end of last term.
The striker is now gearing up for his first campaign in the Premier League as new Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho prepares for the 2016-17 campaign.
United have already won their first piece of silverware under their new manager after Ibrahimovic struck the winner in their 2-1 victory over Leicester City in the Community Shield on Sunday.
And former Liverpool man Souness is tipping Manchester United to win the title this season – and Ibrahimovic to be the key man behind their push for the top-flight crown.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports News HQ, Souness said: “I think it will be one of the Manchester teams [to win the title].
“If Ibrahimovic can fire on all cylinders – and I think there is a good year left in him – he will inspire those around him.
“He’s someone who I enjoy. I enjoy his arrogance because he’s someone who can back it up. I think he could be the difference.”
United finished fifth and won the FA Cup under Louis van Gaal last season before his sacking by the Red Devils back in May.
