Harry Redknapp boldly predicts where Chelsea, Man United will finish
Harry Redknapp believes Man United could be left disappointed under Jose Mourinho
Harry Redknapp believes Chelsea will secure a return to the Premier League’s top four but is backing Manchester United to miss out on Champions League football again this season.
The Blues have appointed Antonio Conte as their manager following a difficult 2015/16 season under Jose Mourinho and Guus Hiddink despite winning the Premier League title in the previous campaign.
The former Italy head coach has already signed Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi in a £30m deal from Ligue 1 side Marseille, while the west London side snapped up N’Golo Kante in a £30m transfer from Premier League champions Leicester City.
United, meanwhile, hired Jose Mourinho as Louis van Gaal’s successor after the Dutchman led the Red Devils to a fifth-place finish, although the 20-time English champions did manage to win the FA Cup thanks to an extra-time win at Wembley.
After tipping Manchester City to win the Premier League ahead of Arsenal, Redknapp stated his prediction for Chelsea and United ahead of what should be one of the most competitive instalments of the English top flight to date.
“Third… I’m going to go with Chelsea,” Redknapp told BetSafe.
Asked who will finish in fourth, Redknapp added: “Tottenham.”
United will start the new season with a trip to Bournemouth, while Chelsea will take on London rivals West Ham United.
