Hector Bellerin sends blunt warning to Liverpool ahead of Arsenal opener
Hector Bellerin says Arsenal are in top shape as they prepare for their opener against Liverpool this month
Hector Bellerin has told his Arsenal team-mates that they “shouldn’t worry” about how they start the Premier League season ahead of their opener with Liverpool later this month.
The Gunners are preparing for the new Premier League season and are now back in the United Kingdom following the conclusion of their pre-season tour of America.
Arsenal kick off the new Premier League campaign with a home clash against Liverpool on 14 August as Jurgen Klopp takes his Reds side down to London.
However, Bellerin has warned Klopp’s side that Arsenal are in peak physical condition as they prepare for the new campaign.
Speaking in an interview with Arsenal’s website, Bellerin said: “Everyone in training is looking really, really good and everyone is looking sharp.
“Everyone is looking really excited for the new season so I don’t think everyone should have a worry how we start the league.”
Both Liverpool and Arsenal will be looking to improve on their campaigns in the Premier League last term.
Arsenal ended up second in the table and 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester City, while Liverpool ended up eighth and missed out on European qualification.
