Ian Wright makes bold prediction about Chelsea and Man City

Ian Wright is tipping Chelsea to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title this season

Ian Wright believes Chelsea will push Manchester City all the way in the Premier League title race.

The Citizens made a winning start to life under Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday evening after Paddy McNair’s own goal handed City a fortuitous 2-1 victory over Sunderland.

Chelsea will start their Premier League campaign with a home clash against West Ham United at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Antonio Conte has signed two players in the summer transfer window so far, snapping up Michy Batshuayi in a £33m deal from Marseille before completing a £32m deal for Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante.

Chelsea and City were the last two winners of the Premier League crown before Leicester’s heroics in the English top flight last season.

Asked on Match of the Day who is his tip for the title, Wright replied:

“I think Chelsea will run Man City close. I feel Man City might do it.”

Chelsea are four-time Premier League winners and won the top-flight crown under Jose Mourinho in 2015.
