Ian Wright says he was very impressed with Liverpool signing Sadio Mane after Sunday’s 4-3 victory over Arsenal.

The Senegal international started his first Premier League game as a Liverpool player at the Emirates Stadium following a £34m move to Anfield from Southampton last month.

Mane scored Liverpool’s fourth in a seven-goal thriller in north London as the African manager to beat three Arsenal players before placing his finish high past Petr Cech.

And former Arsenal striker Wright is a big admirer of the new Liverpool signing after Mane impressed for Jurgen Klopp’s side during their pre-season tour of United States.

Asked on The Sun Goals App podcast to analyse Mane’s performance at The Emirates, Wright replied: “Mane was awesome.”

The 24-year-old scored 21 goals in 67 Premier League games for Southampton during a two-season stay at St Mary’s.

Liverpool are in second place in the Premier League table after Sunday’s 4-3 victory over Arsenal in north London.
