Arsenal are preparing to make a bid to sign Shkodran Mustafi from Valencia in the coming days as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster his defensive options, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move to bring the Germany international to The Emirates following the news of Per Mertesacker’s serious injury setback.
Arsenal have already signed one defender this summer in the form of 20-year-old Rob Holding from Bolton Wanderers.
However, the north London side are believed to be keen to add some more experience to their rearguard – and reporter Giulianelli says that Arsenal are lining up a move to bring the 24-year-old to the Premier League.

Arsenal have thus far signed Holding, midfielder Granit Xhaka and striker Takuma Asano this summer.
The Gunners – who finished second in the Premier League last season – kick off their new campaign with a tricky home clash against Liverpool on 14 August at The Emirates.
