Insider claims Arsenal in contact with Atletico Madrid about star attacker
Arsenal want to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid, according to Italian journalist Emaneuele Giulianelli
Arsenal want to sign Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer and have been in regular contact with Atletico Madrid over his availability, according to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
Writing in his column for Tribal Football, Giulianelli claims that the north London side have been in contact with Atletico over the possibility of signing the Euro 2016 star.
The contact, it is claimed, took place both during and after the European championships in France.
The same report claims that Arsenal are delaying another offer to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon as they wait to see if Atletico sign Diego Costa from Chelsea, which in turn could make a move for Griezmann easier.
The article concludes by reporting that Arsenal will make another approach for the France international in the coming days.
Arsene Wenger has made no secret of his desire to sign an attacking player in the summer transfer window as he bids to lead his side to the Premier League title for the first time since 2004.
The north London side finished second in the Premier League last season.
