Arsenal have been linked with a host of players in the summer transfer window but have thus far only signed midfielder Granit Xhaka, defender Rob Holding and striker Takuma Asano.

Now, Italian reporter Giulianelli is claiming that Arsenal have been keeping tabs on the Atletico Madrid star this summer with a view to a possible summer transfer.

Giulianelli goes on to say that both Manchester United and PSG have also expressed an interest in the France international, but that the player would favour a move to The Emirates.

However, he concludes by revealing that a deal now looks unlikely for Arsenal due to the transfer fee expected to be involved.

Giulianelli tweeted:

Arsenal finished second in the Premier League table last season and 10 points behind surprise champions Leicester City in the top flight table.

The Gunners kick off their new Premier League campaign with a home clash against Liverpool on 14 August at The Emirates.
