The Gunners have been heavily linked with a bid to bring the 24-year-old Germany centre-half to The Emirates in recent weeks following Gabriel Paulista and Per Mertesacker’s injury setbacks.

Matters were made worse for manager Arsene Wenger after he watched his team slump to a disappointing 4-3 defeat by Liverpool in their opening Premier League game on Sunday afternoon.

Now, Giulianelli is claiming that although Arsenal are yet to table an official bid for Mustafi, the Gunners have already agreed personal terms with the player and the defender has told Valencia of his desire to move to The Emirates.

The reporter tweeted:

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal can push through a deal to bring Mustafi to The Emirates before the Gunners’ trip to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester this weekend.
